Showing basement’s Client Work in Your Portfolio or on Social Media: The Rules
We’re proud of the work we design and develop in our studio – that’s a fact. We’re not against showcasing the work done here, but in the interest of transparency and building a healthy relationship between the team and the studio, we’ve created this guide to set clear expectations about sharing your work publicly.
Guiding principles:
Ask Before Sharing: We won’t stop you from showcasing the work, but reach out to José, Facundo, or Lisandro before sharing it publicly.
Mention the studio: When sharing a case study, link to our website or the Basement blog post if available. On social media (Instagram, X, etc.), tag our studio’s account.
Be Clear About Your Role: Honesty builds the trust we value in our teams. Clearly state your contributions to the project and avoid taking credit for the work of others.
Lastly, sometimes we aren’t able to show client work because it requires client authorization. Don’t forget that, at the end of the day, the studio – in partnership with the clients – owns the intellectual property. To avoid legal issues for both the studio and yourself, make sure to follow the guiding principles.
Remember, being able to work with these companies also means we invest a lot of time, money, and effort.
